AOC’s latest monitor boasts 240Hz at an affordable price

AOC is back with what looks to be a very impressive monitor for those on a lower budget. The new esports-oriented 25G3ZM/BK AGON gaming monitor offers 1080p gaming at 240Hz, for under £200.

The AOC 25G3ZM/BK esports monitor comes with a 25-inch VA panel with a 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms G2G response time (0.5ms MPRT) and FullHD resolution. Like many other VA panels, it has a 3000:1 contrast ratio, 300nits of brightness and an 8-bit colour depth, allowing it to cover 92% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and 100% of the sRGB spectrum.

As we've come to expect from every gaming monitor nowadays, it has flicker-free technology, a low blue light mode and Adaptive sync. Other gaming features include AMD FreeSync Premium, six game modes (colour presets), gaming overlays, console mode for FullHD@120Hz gaming and AOC Game Color and Shadow Control, which allows you to adjust colours and grey levels to brighten up darker areas and enhance visibility.

The 25G3ZM/BK comes with an ergonomic stand with swivel, pivot, tilt and height adjustment capabilities. Alternatively, you may use a VESA 100x100mm stand or arm of your choice to enhance things further. Available video outputs include a DisplayPort 1.2 and two HDMI 2.0 ports. Additionally, there's a 3.5mm headphone jack. The AOC 25G3ZM/BK gaming monitor will be available later this month with an MSRP of £189.99.

KitGuru says: This might be the first time we've seen a 240Hz monitor launching under £200. The push for even higher refresh rates has finally reached a point where 240Hz can be considered affordable.
