Acer’s latest 27-inch gaming monitor can be overclocked to 280Hz

Acer has just launched a new gaming monitor capable of reaching extremely high refresh rates. Featuring a 27-inch panel, the Acer XV271Z has a native refresh rate of 240Hz, but it can be overclocked to 280Hz.

Packing a 27-inch IPS panel with FullHD resolution, the Acer XV271Z has a 1ms response time, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and an 8-bit colour depth. The monitor covers 99% of the sRGB colour gamut and has 400 nits of brightness, which should be enough to earn the VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, but there's no mention of it on the official list of certified products. However, it supports Acer HDR400 if you want to enjoy HDR content and AMD FreeSync Premium for tearless gaming sessions.

The included stand offers a full set of ergonomic features, allowing users to tilt, swivel or adjust its height. If that's not enough, anyone can easily enhance the monitor ergonomic features by mounting the monitor on a VESA 100x100mm monitor arm.

On the back of the monitor, users can find a DisplayPort 1.2, 2x HDMI ports, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. If you prefer listening to audio out loud, the monitor also packs speakers. The Acer XV271Z is now available for $399.99.

KitGuru says: There are not many 27-inch monitors capable of 280Hz refresh rate on the market, but there is now a new alternative for those looking for one.
