HP unveils 31.5-inch 4K UHD display with 10-bit colour spectrum

Hewlett-Packard has unveiled its new professional monitor that combines all the latest display technologies available today. The HP Z32x boasts with ultra-high-definition resolution, accurate colours and rich connectivity options. Pricing of the product was not announced, but do not expect it to be affordable.

The HP DreamColor Z32x (M2D46A4) features an advanced 31.5” IPS panel with 3840*2160 resolution as well as a wide 10-bit color spectrum sRGB/BT.709/AdobeRGB (100/100/99.5 per cent color coverage). The display is factory calibrated and delivers accurate colour reproduction out-of-box. Fast and easy hardware recalibration is achieved with either the HP DreamColor solution or the Klein Instruments K10-A.

The DreamColor Z32x monitor features 178° horizontal and 178° vertical viewing angles, 300cd/m² brightness as well as 8ms gray to gray response time. Since the display is not designed for gamers, its 60Hz refresh rate can hardly be considered a drawback.

The professional monitor features one HDMI 2.0, one HDMI 1.4/MHL, one DisplayPort 1.2 and one mini-DisplayPort connectors with HDCP support. The display also sports four-port USB 3.0 hub with fast charging support. The HP Z32x also has 4-way, customizable tilt, height adjustment, swivel, and pivot settings to adjust from landscape to portrait.

KitGuru Says: The HP DreamColor Z32x seems to be a dream monitor if you need accurate colours and do not care about refresh rates, dynamic synchronization technologies and other things for gamers. Of course, the display is going to carry rather excessive price tag, but perfection tends to cost a lot of money…
