Razer unleashes 1000Hz Wolverine V3 Pro controller for Xbox and PC

A lot of standard console controllers nowadays can be prone to stick-drift, which has pushed many enthusiasts to seek out higher-spec custom controllers. Razer has just launched its latest, the Wolverine V3 Pro, and it seems to give the Xbox Elite controller a run for its money.

The Razer Wolverine V3 Pro is designed for Xbox and PC. You'll get the most out of it on PC though, thanks to the 1000Hz polling rate when wired in. Alternatively, you can use it wirelessly on PC or Xbox with 2.4GHz wireless.

To eliminate instances of stick-drift, a not entirely uncommon issue where the controller registers phantom movement, the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro uses Hall Effect sticks, in the usual concave Xbox style. Naturally, it also has RGB lighting for some extra flair.

The face buttons here are mechanical for low response times and you get four paddle buttons on the back of the controller, as well as two extra shoulder buttons, so you can customise the controls to your liking. There are an extra pair of PlayStation-style sticks in the included carry case, which also has a handy compartment for your USB-C cable and wireless dongle.

Like most other Pro-grade controllers, the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro won't come cheap, sitting at £199.99 in the UK and $199.99 in the US. This puts it at a higher price than the Xbox Elite Series controller, but it also has better specs, so that is to be expected.
