Razer launches BlackWidow V4 Pro with even more RGB

The Razer BlackWidow returns in 2023 with the launch of the new BlackWidow V4 Pro. Aside from upgraded RGB lighting that extends to the wrist rest, the keyboard also packs a number of useful features, including a highly configurable ‘Command Dial'.

The BlackWidow V4 Pro ships with either Razer Green Clicky switches or Razer Yellow Silent switches, so you can choose between tactile feedback or quiet operation. As you would expect, the keyboard is decked out with Razer Chroma RGB LEDs, providing underglow lighting under each key and even around the magnetic wrist rest.

The Command Dial is a big part of what this keyboard has to offer on the functionality front. The dial is preset with 8 modes, allowing for window zooming, tab switching and other shortcuts. However, you can customise it further with up to 100 Custom Modes, which can be mapped to counter-clockwise or clockwise turns of the dial. You also get a set of macro-keys along the side of the keyboard that can of course be programmed to whatever shortcuts you want.

Some other notable features include USB 2.0 passthrough, detachable Type C connections, dual-angle kickstands, and up to 8000Hz polling rate. Lastly, the keyboard includes 2 layers of sound-dampening foam internally and factory-lubricated stabilizers for improved typing acoustics.

The Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro launches today, priced at £229.99.

KitGuru Says: It will be interesting to see how this keyboard holds up in reviews. On paper, it sounds like a great keyboard but it also carries a high price tag.
