The first ever licenced Lord of the Rings-themed keyboards are on the way

If you're a fan of Lord of the Rings, there's a chance you're going to like Drop's new keyboards. In collaboration with Middle-earth Enterprises, the company has just announced the first-ever official LOTR-themed keyboards, featuring keycaps in either dwarvish or elvish, themed colours and Holy Panda X mechanical switches.

Drop had already launched the MT3 The Lord of the Rings Dwarvish/elvish keycap sets, but now there is also a pre-built keyboard for fans of the series. There will be two LOTR keyboards, one in Elvish and the other in Dwarvish. The Elvish-themed keyboard is based on the Two Trees of Valinor, while the Dwarvish model takes design cues from the Doors of Durin.

Both keyboards will feature a tenkeyless layout with 87 keys and USB-C connectivity. Moreover, they will use an anodized aluminium case to house the Holy Panda X switches and Drop Phantom stabilizers, offering enthusiast-level typing. For those not fluent in Elvish or Dwarvish, you should know each keyboard packs another keycap set with English characters.

The upcoming keyboards are now available to pre-order for $169 ($30 discount) with a 3-year warranty. The shipping is expected to start in early October.
