Xbox introduces Stormcloud Vapor Special Edition controller

Microsoft has released plenty of Special Edition controllers over the years, featuring new colourways and patterns. The latest is the Stormcloud Vapor Special Edition controller, featuring a swirl of blue and navy hues to create a unique pattern for each controller.

The Stormcloud Vapour design draws inspiration from storming skies and the clouds involving them. The controller features everything you would expect from a standard Xbox gamepad, with the addition of blue rubberised grips, something we don't typically see on standard Xbox controllers.

Thanks to its integration of Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless technologies, the Stormcloud Vapour controller can connect to a wide range of devices, including Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, PCs, phones, and tablets. There's also a 3.5mm audio jack that you can use to connect a compatible headset. With an impressive battery life of up to 40 hours, you'll get plenty of gaming in before you need to charge it. You can remap its buttons and create profiles for each game via the Xbox Accessories app. The Xbox Stormcloud Vapor Special Edition controller is now available for pre-order for $69.99.

Besides the new controller, Xbox is also launching the Stormcloud Vapour exclusive dynamic background for the Xbox Series X|S consoles alongside the new controller. To enable it, press the Settings button on your console dashboard, navigate to the General tab, and locate the Personalization button. Proceed to the “My Background” menu and look for the new dynamic background.
