SteelSeries unveils Alias and Alias Pro gaming mics with AI noise cancellation

SteelSeries is launching its own line of gaming microphones for enthusiasts looking to have the best audio for comms or for streamers looking to upgrade their broadcast. Utilising AI, SteelSeries is able to offer pretty impressive background noise cancellation too.

With a 1″ capsule that is three times larger than average, the Alias can capture your voice more accurately regardless of your position towards the microphone. Moreover, there's the Sonar software, an AIO sound studio for managing all areas of livestream audio creation. Sonar is a single app that allows you to mix and route the sound of your applications as well as personalise the sound of your microphone with ClearCast AI noise suppression and a 10-band equaliser.

The standard Alias also offers LED level monitoring to clearly indicate if the microphone is muted or not, as well as noise levels. In addition, it also features a shock mount as part of the included desk stand, perfect to reduce unwanted vibrations. Alternatively, you can mount the Alias on a boom arm.

The Alias Pro is a step up over the original, bundling everything you need to broadcast to a single or dual PC, including a Stream Mixer (with customisable controls) and two USB cables. Because it uses an XLR connection, the Alias Pro is compatible with other sound equipment you may already possess, such as mixers. Like the standard Alias, it features a shock mount on the desk stand, and it's compatible with Sonar.

The Alias is now available for £179.99/€199.99, while the Alias Pro goes for £319.99/€349.99.
