Razer launches new Kitsune arcade controller for fighting games

Razer has announced the release of Kitsune, an all-button optical arcade controller for the fighting game community. The Razer Kitsune deviates from traditional controllers by combining the tactile feel of an arcade control panel with optical switches, providing exceptional accuracy and excellent control while being thin and portable.

The Razer Kitsune adds a new level of control by replacing the standard joysticks found in arcade controllers with four movement buttons, eliminating input mistakes and allowing players to execute complicated manoeuvres correctly. The Kitsune features Razer's low-profile linear optical switches for increased responsiveness. These are the same switches found on the Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro.

Built for mobility, the Kitsune comes in a thin, portable form factor that can easily be stowed in a backpack and has a detachable USB-C cable for easy setup and packing. The Kitsune's Cable Security Clasp and Tournament Lock Switch limit the possibility of inadvertent disconnections and unwelcome inputs while playing.

The detachable aluminium top plate and Razer Chroma RGB on the Kitsune give it some flair. Like most Razer RGB Chroma-compatible devices, it can be customised with Razer's software. The standard Kitsune is now available for $299.99/€349.99. Additionally, Razer will release a Razer Kitsune SF6 Chun-Li Edition and Cammy Edition in Q4 2023 for $329.99/€379.99, each.

KitGuru says: In fighting game tournaments, arcade controllers were the norm for many years, but recently there has been an increasing number of users preferring a classic controller. The Kitsune works much like a mix of both, hoping to bring the best of both worlds into a single device.
