Microsoft updates official Xbox Wireless headset

Microsoft has announced an update to its Xbox Wireless Headset, delivering a range of enhancements to improve the audio experience. The revamped headset now boasts an improved microphone, enhanced connectivity, and an extended battery life, offering considerable improvements over its predecessor.

With Bluetooth 5.3 and Dolby Atmos support, users can enjoy high-quality audio on Xbox consoles, mobile devices, and PCs. The headset retains its predecessor's user-friendly rotating ear cup controls, allowing for seamless adjustments to volume and game/audio chat balance.

Microsoft has made a noticeable change to its aesthetic, opting for a sleek all-black design by removing the previous green accents. The microphone has also received various improvements, including auto-mute and speech isolation technology designed to minimise unwanted background noise. Battery is another area where the headset was improved, offering up to 20 hours of battery life (up from 15 hours of the previous version).

These enhancements come with a price increase. While the original headset retailed for £94.99/$99.99/€99.99, the new and improved model is set to hit the shelves at £99.99/$109.99/€109.99.
