Tt eSPORTS Shock Gaming Headset Review

In a similar fashion to other products we've looked at which fall under the Tt eSPORTS brand, the Shock features a red and black colour scheme which is sure to appeal to gamers.  This takes the form of a predominantly black headset with gloss-red accents on the earcups and a large strip of gloss-red plastic spanning the headband.

We are a little underwhelmed by the quality of the plastic that Tt eSPORTS use in the construction of the Shock.  The headband especially feels flimsy, despite a backbone of metal in places.  The extensive use of plastic in the construction helps to keep weight to a minimum, though.

It's clear that Tt eSPORTS have considered the needs of serious gamers with this headset as it boasts a folding design which substantially reduces the size during transportation.  This makes it ideal for those gamers who frequent LAN events.

The microphone is activated by folding it down from the left earcup.  It is a flexible boom microphone which can easily be adjusted for the best results.  We would prefer to see Tt eSPORTS including a retractable microphone on this model considering the broader compatibility with portable devices, resulting from the 3.5 mm interface.

Like all good gaming headsets, the Shock boasts an in-line control around 50 cm down the cable from the headset.  This features a volume control and a microphone mute button.  There is a clip on the back of this which will let you attach it to your shirt to prevent the cables from tugging as much.

As previously mentioned, the Shock uses a 3.5 mm interface, meaning it is compatible with the majority of devices currently on the market.  There are two 3.5 mm connectors at the end of the cable, separating the headphone and microphone functions.  These connectors are gold plated, ensuring the best possible signal transmission.

  1. These sound great, but they fall apart – I know reviewers dont get much time with them, but ive had two pairs.

Thermaltake build quality is always dire. they need to sort it out.

  2. very uncomfortable – looks great and sound good, but my friend has a pair and he can’t wear them for more than 30 minutes at a time. also feel very flimsy

  3. My pair have been fine for months and I dont find them uncomfortable

  4. I love it, 10/10, cheap, I don’t find it flimsy, great quality, much more comfortable than my old Turtle Beach PX21.

  5. “Plastics feel a little poor in places.”

feels and is are 2 different things folks. I’ve had the Shock, regular shock for over 2 years now, not a simple break anywhere, am i’m the kinda guy who buys Steelseries Siberia V2 and has them for 1-6 months max, after that they brake in the most awkward places.

This is basically unbreakable 😀 Since i’ve dropped myn more than 10 000 times.
