Current PS4 pre-orders confirmed for Christmas delivery

Last week we reported that there may not be enough PlayStation 4 stock to go around, causing shortages for months after release. However, Sony has come out to reassure customers that they will get their PS4's before Christmas.

Fergal Gara, Managing Director of Sony UK stated: “Everyone who has put down a pre-order so far will definitely get one before Christmas, as long as nothing goes terribly wrong”. It was also stated that ample volume should be available after launch but we should expect tight supplies around the holidays.

The key point here is that all of this is based on sales forecasts, so as long as Sony gets its predictions right, then everything should go according to plan. There are no precise sales figures yet but at Gamescom, Sony revealed that the PlayStation 4 had exceeded one million pre orders within the first few weeks after preorders were launched. Since then the pre-order numbers are said to have risen substantially, hinting at a record launch.

KitGuru Says: If you've pre-ordered already then you're in luck! I haven't reserved a PlayStation 4 but that's not to say I haven't been tempted. Have you pre-ordered one yet? Which titles are you looking forward to the most?

  1. Preordered from Amazon some time ago and once they announced the launch dates Amazon was kind enough to tell me that it will arrive on that day.

What strikes me the most is the “play now, upgrade for pennies later” offer they made. That is superb customer approach. Can’t wait to jump to BF4 on PS4!
