Turtle Beach pens deal with Twitch.tv

Headset maker Turtle Beach, has announced a partnership with esports streaming service, Twitch.tv, meaning that the former will provide sound equipment for official Twitch esports events, as the official audio partner.

The benefit for Turtle Beach, is of course exposure, with advertising placements in-front of Twitch's multiple tens of millions of viewers, as well as promotion at the actual events themselves, with the gamers seen wearing Turtle Beach hardware.

“We're excited to partner with Twitch and provide them with our advanced tournament and broadcast products for their eSports and gaming events,” said Turtle Beach CMO Bob Picunko (via GamesIndustry). Twitch's CEO, Emmett Shear, also commented “We're proud to have [Turtle Beach] as our official audio partner.”

“With the innovative features available in Turtle Beach's audio gear, anyone in the Twitch community will be able to easily broadcast their games and audio commentary with professional quality results,” continued Shear.

Turtle Beach was initially an audio card manufacturer/developer, competing directly with the likes of Creative. However in recent years it's diversified and focused on consumer grade audio hardware, becoming quite successful in the process.

KitGuru Says: This is a decent move for both companies. It gives Twitch a decent prize pack partner for runners up at events and gives Turtle Beach a great platform to demo new products. Any of you guys rocking Turtle Beach hardware?
