The Nexus 5 briefly came out of hiding

While we still have no official word from Google itself on the Nexus 5, we've seen plenty of leaks and this one came directly from the Google Play Store. The Nexus 5 appeared there with a price tag of $349. Unfortunately clicking  on the listing didn't lead to another web page and the leak was quickly plugged, so the Play Store now shows the Nexus 4 again.

Say hello to the new nexus.

We still don't have a release date or even an event announcement from Google yet but rumors are currently suggesting around 30th October thanks to an Amazon phone case listing.

We have a rough idea on specs as not too long ago a service manual for the phone leaked. Proposed specs include:

  • 5 Inch 1080p display
  • 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16 GB and 32GB storage options
  • Android 4.4 KitKat

This closer look at the Nexus 5 pretty much confirms previous sightings of the phone. The $349 price tag makes it slightly more expensive although we don't know if that was for the 16GB or the 32GB version. In the UK $349 works out at around £270 once you add on tax.

KitGuru Says: For now the Nexus 5 has gone back into hiding but I don't think it'll be very long before we see the device again. Hopefully next time we see it, it'll be at the official launch event. Are any of you guys looking forward to seeing the Nexus 5 with the new version of Android?
