Facebook apologise to mother for banning breastfeeding pics

Facebook were at the center of a controversial move recently when they removed a post featuring a mother in America, Sacramento breastfeeding her child.

Kristy Kemp is in charge of a breastfeeding support group page on Facebook. She got angry when she realised that Facebook removed several breastfeeding images and then proceeded to block her from the page.

She said “It's not right. I'm trying to do good for mothers and I'm getting kicked off for posting pictures one of the most beautiful acts a mother can do for her kid, and it's not right.

Facebook's policy does say that it is fine to show breastfeeding images, however images where a breast is fully exposed and the child isn't actively nursing, is not.

Kitguru says: We can see how this might be easy for a Facebook moderator to get wrong.
