Radeon RX 6750 GRE graphics cards with 12GB VRAM might be on the way

Rumours about AMD releasing a Radeon RX 6750 GRE graphics card have been floating on the internet for some time. Most recently, Gigabyte and MSI versions of this graphics card have been spotted, both sporting 12GB of VRAM.

According to Gigabyte China (via VideoCardz), this graphics card will feature 12GB of VRAM, an upgrade from the RX 6700's 10GB of memory. As for the memory speed, seeing as most recent GPUs using GDDR6 use 18 Gbps modules, the RX 6750 GRE should use them as well. The other GPU specs remain unknown. However, the card should be based on the Navi 22 GPU.

Soon after Gigabyte announced the graphics card, MSI listed its new prebuilt gaming systems equipped with it. The difference is that while Gigabyte plans to launch the RX 6750 GRE on October 18th, MSI systems are already available.

ITHome was the first to share MSI's listing, leading it to contact MSI's customer care regarding the GPU's performance. MSI answered that the GPU will perform similarly to an RTX 4060 Ti, which is also quite similar to the RX 6750 XT. A brief examination of MSI systems reveals that the RX 6750 GRE will be priced slightly higher than the RTX 4060, with an increase of approximately up to 4% when changing one GPU with the other. Doing the same with the RX 6750 GRE and XT models, the former is expected to be up to 7% cheaper than the latter.

As we've learned with the release of the RX 7900 GRE, the “GRE” naming stands for “Golden Rabbit Edition,” in honour of China's Year of the Rabbit. As such, these cards were not expected to be available outside of China, but some retailers in Europe have gotten their hands on some.

KitGuru says: The claim that the RX 6750 GRE performs similarly to an RTX 4060 Ti seems a bit optimistic. If that's the case, AMD would be launching a GPU that would perform similarly to the RX 6750 XT, which wouldn't make sense from a business point of view unless the RX 6750 GRE replaced the XT variant.
