AMD wraps up RX 7000, says “RDNA portfolio now complete”

Following AMD's keynote at Gamescom last week, the company's Senior VP and GM of the Graphics Business Unit answered a few interview questions. Not much was revealed about AMD's future plans, but we did get confirmation that the RX 7700 XT and RX 7800 XT are the last two major product launches left in the RX 7000 line-up. 

AMD recently introduced the latest additions to the Radeon RX 7000 series lineup when it revealed the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT over at Gamescom 2023. With the RX 7800 XT priced at $499 and the RX 7700 XT at $449, they've left a considerable pricing gap between the RX 7900 XT ($899) and the RX 7600 ($269). As such, some enthusiasts were left wondering if AMD would launch more GPUs.

As pointed out by VideoCardz, that won't be the case based on Scott Herkleman's words. When asked whether the RDNA 3 lineup was complete, he confirmed exactly that, with no additional ASICs planned for this generation. There's still a chance that AMD may release some variants down the line (like the RX 7900 GRE), but given the phrasing regarding the conclusion of the RDNA 3 family, this likely means we won't get any more Radeon RX 7000 series desktop GPUs.

However, Herkelman's comments regarding the future of RDNA 3 left us wondering about the Radeon RX 7000M mobile series. As of now, AMD has only released four entry-level versions that use the Navi 33 GPU. There have been rumours of a Navi 31-based mobile GPU, but nothing has been officially announced yet.
