Introducing: The Four Players

Screen Writer Evan Daugherty, has partnered up with YouTube channel Polaris and Maker Studios to bring out quite a special re-imagining of one of the most famous franchises in video games history, and trust me, it's good.

Titled ‘The Four Players,' each video features a short, under 5 minute clip introducing one of four characters in a dark but real world setting. The first two were released yesterday: The Fixer and The Addict. A few hours ago the final two were released: The Soldier and The Star, but if you think you can guess what we're talking about from the titles- you're wrong.

While it's probably intended that you start off with ‘The Fixer' and then move on to ‘The Addict', I started off with the latter and as a result, I had a ‘holy crap' moment once I realised what the film was going for: [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPRK1ZW8Y3U']

I'll let you guys use the annotations at the end to navigate through the next three videos.

I'm going to assume you've all watched the videos now and figured out that this is all a spin on Super Mario. Pretty cool right? I knew you guys would like it.

Kitguru Says: The family friendly platformer just did a complete 180. Princess Peach gets tortured, Toad's a suicide bombers, Luigi is a drug addict and Mario- well he's still a plumber. What did you guys think? Where were these guys when that awful Super Mario movie was made?
