News has filtered out from BrightSideOfNews that Doug Stoakley, Nvidia's Senior Director of Worldwide Sales for Tegra and Mobile is leaving Nvidia, landing a new job in AMD.
Our sources today have confirmed that the move is real and he is starting the job very soon. Stoakley will be heading up worldwide GPU sales and hopefully changing the market for the company, as they recently posted a loss of $74 million. We would imagine the move was planned some time ago, well before AMD announced a poor financial result.
AMD have had a tough year, they have posted a series of operating losses for the past four quarters with their last operating profit posted in the second quarter of 2012. They need to focus on their strengths and try to expand into a few other sectors to increase profitability. Their adoption into the next generation series of consoles will assuredly help boost revenue in the next 24 months.
Kitguru says: Good luck to Doug Stoakley in the new position, it is going to be a challenging job for him. One he is clearly willing to accept.
