Samsung Galaxy Note II prices go wild ahead of Note III launch

With all the furore surrounding the way that component prices have been dropping recently, space a thought for any resellers or distributors who presently have stock on the Samsung Galaxy Note II. A KitGuru associate was considering one of these, but hit a snag when they went to do a price comparison. KitGuru powers up the LEDs and heads into the dark corners of the channel.

We live in a price competitive world.

Whenever one supplier has a product at £100, we're sure to find a spread of others in the £90 to £110 range.

Google and Amazon both do quite nice business off this fact.

It's not often that some of the most famous stores in the country can be undercut by close to £200 by other famous stores. Not on a product that generally costs less than £500.

While the Samsung Galaxy Note II managed to sell close to 2 million during the month after its launch toward the end of 2012, sales have been very wobbly for some time. Demand has been sporadic in the face of a wave of new launches and the candy-dangling desire being tapped into by the up-coming Note III (scheduled for early September) and new Apple handset.

Anyone retailer holding onto Samsung Galaxy Note II stock right now, will be getting very sweaty palms. As a result, deals are being done and the extent to which people want to have the Note II phones on their shelves cleared by the time the Note III lands, has led to this quite amazing spread of pricing:-

The spread of pricing that we have seen on the Samsung Galaxy Note II is quite incredible.

KitGuru says: With prices tumbling down this range of stores by almost £200, bargain hunters will want to check through until the last minute to make sure they have the very best deal in town. That said, if you wait until after the first week of September, you're almost certain to get a deal that will make these prices look positively bloated.
