Lego has been a big deal for a long time, but it seems like since the release of Minecraft, it's sparked a whole new generation of fans, and media attention. Forget that for now though, today it's all about K'nex, as one man has used it to build the world's largest K'nex ball machine and it's absolutely enormous.

Located in the Works Museum in Bloomington, Minnesota, the 100,000 piece strong K'nex construction is designed to help inspire children that visit and represents just another tickbox on creator Austron's laundry list of giant K'nex projects. He's previously built several large ball machines with the stuff and this is simply his  biggest yet. Changes are, 2014 will mean bigger still.

This was posted up over at – where else? – Reddit, where user Austron explained that the build is incredibly strong too and could take at least twice the load it currently handles without breaking. KitGuru Says: This is one of the guys that they should send to the first Mars colony. Send him up there with a tonne of K'Nex and we'll have running water and mine shafts there in no time.
