Facebook have introduced a new feature, which lets organisations include status updates, videos and photographs in stories. The posts operate in a similar way to embeds from YouTube and Twitter. Once the account is enabled you will get the option to ‘Embed Post'. That then creates a code which you can cut and paste into a blog system or HTML file.
The posts have to be set to public for this to work and in their announcement Facebook highlighted a status update from the British Monarchy regarding the recent royal birth.
It has been documented that around 72 percent of the Facebook audience set their posts to private so this will primarily be useful for businesses and organisations interacting with their audience.
The company continue to tune and tweak their software interface, introducing Hashtags back in June so users could track conversations on Facebook. The new embed system can also include hashtags, so readers can click on them to see more discussions.
