Lexar release four bay USB 3.0 card reader

Lexar have announced the new Professional Workflow HR1, a four bay USB 3.0 card reader hub designed for professional photographers. This new multi card reader has four different trays which can be individually removed for portability.

The four trays are stacked vertically to save physical desk space. All four can be connected via a single USB cable and it supports SD, CompactFlash and XQD memory cards.

Interestingly, the Workflow HR1 can transfer data from all four card readers at the same time, meaning you don't have to wait for one task to finish before progressing another. The USB 3.0 speeds should help ensure good overall speeds, even in this scenario.

The modular design means that users can add their own selection of compatible card readers, which are sold separately.

The four bay hub is listed in America now for $80, and the SD and Compactflash card readers will set the user back $30. The XQD reader is more expensive, coming in at $45.
