Cooler Master has announced a new range of CM Storm peripherals, as part of the Aluminum range, featuring a removable aluminium plate to allow for customisation and to add durability and strength to them. All in all, there's a new keyboard, mouse and headset to populate this new series, each with a bare metal finish.
The first of the batch is the Reaper mouse. It comes with the removable and customisable aluminium plate on the palm rest and looks from the images to cater to both claw and palm grip styles. It features a ridiculous 8200 DPI using an Avago laser sensor, a 1000hz polling rate, eight reprogrammable buttons and onboard memory for profile storage.
The Reaper will be available from mid-september for £65 in the UK.
Next up we have the MECH keyboard, which features Cherry MX switches (though no word on which types, so my guess is either Black or a choice at point of purchase), with every key fully programmable with up to five profiles. There's also space to store as many as 75 different macro functions, along with a 72MHz internal processor for Macro playback. To keep you gaming in the dark as well as the light, there's also full LED backlighting with three modes and five brightness levels.
The MECH comes in at an eye watering £150 and will be available sometime in September.
Finally we have the PULSE-R headset, which features the same aluminium styling as the other products, along with specific audio features, like especially chosen gaming-centric tweeters and mids for decent highs and low frequencies, cushioned ear cups for added noise cancellation and long term comfort and a small in-line remote and a detachable microphone. According to Cooler Master, this headset will let you: “represent and brand your team in the growing e-Sports world while providing powerful sound to keep gamers immersed in the action.”
The Pulse R will hit the shelves towards the end of September, priced at £75.
KitGuru Says: Any of that kit strike your fancy? The mouse looks a bit too sharp for my liking. I bet that aluminium is really cold first thing in the morning too. That's the same as the problem you have with glass mouse mats, it's just not a comfortable temperature.
