A dialogue option can lock you out of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty questline

Cyberpunk 2077's big expansion is now officially available and so far, there has been a lot of positive reception around Phantom Liberty and the new content it provides. My early impressions are that this expansion is damn near essential for completing the Cyberpunk experience but I'll have more to say on that in a few days time. For now, I have a little bit of advice for those getting started so you don't get locked out of the new main quest.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has a pretty long introduction, with the setup for the main quest taking place over several missions. At a certain point in the Lucretia My Reflection mission, after meeting Solomon Reed, you will have a choice – join up with your newfound friends to unravel the mystery ahead, or just simply leave. As it turns out, this is actually a major decision point, as choosing to leave will in fact lock you out of the rest of the Phantom Liberty questline.

If you don't care about spoilers, I'll dive into the specifics a bit further here – this is all in the first hour or two of the expansion. Phantom Liberty's opening mission has you sneaking into Dog Town under the guidance of Songbird, a netrunner working with the President. The president's plane crashes right in the center and it quickly becomes your job to get her out of the situation. After escaping the crash site, you find yourself holed up with the president in an abandoned apartment building. She tells you how to get in contact with Solomon Reed, a secret agent who previously worked directly with the president. You go find him, bring him to the president and it is at this point that Reed asks V is they are really willing to continue on with the mission.

If you say “You're right. I'm out”, that's it, Phantom Liberty ends. Solomon takes the president to safety and then cuts off all contact with you, leaving you completely in the dark.

Having this option does make some sense, as hardcore roleplayers may not feel like their version of V would cooperate with the cops. While you won't be able to do the rest of the main questline if you choose this option, you will still be able to access Dog Town and play all of the new side content introduced. However, we would suggest just going with it and seeing where the mystery leads.
