EA will reveal its very first official WRC game tomorrow

Codemasters acquired the WRC licence in 2020, committing to develop one annual WRC game for the next five years, beginning in 2023. The racing game studio was acquired by EA a year later and we've heard little about the studio's first WRC game since, leaving some to wonder if the game has been pushed to 2024. Fortunately, this is set to change this week.

Electronic Arts, the parent company of Codemasters, said on Twitter that it will unveil its first World Rally Championship (WRC) game on September 5th on YouTube. The game was reportedly planned to release on July 28th 2023, but it was pushed back to later in the year.

A previous rumour claimed the game would launch in November this year, a few weeks after Microsoft's Forza Motorsport. A ‘Champions Edition' version of the game is expected, which will include a few days of early access to the game as well as future DLC content.

The game will be available on PS5Xbox Series X/S and PC. EA Play subscribers will reportedly also have a typical 10-hour trial as well as the same three-day early access period offered to Champions Edition players.
