First Threadripper 7000 motherboard spotted in new listing

While we still don't know when AMD will launch the next generation of Threadripper HEDT CPUs, it seems motherboard vendors are already preparing for their launch. Previous rumours suggested that the Threadripper 7000 series would be delayed, but the latest evidence suggests that might not be the case.

The EEC listing that @KOMACHI_ENSAKA shared (via VideoCardz) provides explicit confirmation of the nomenclature for AMD's upcoming HEDT motherboard chipset. As you can see in the entry, in the middle of all of those consumer motherboards, there's a TRX50 WS (WorkStation) board.

The TRX50 chipset is the successor to the sTR4-based TRX40 used by the Threadripper 5000 series. New-gen Threadripper processors will need a new socket configuration and support DDR5 memory. As a result, manufacturers such as ASRock will need to launch new motherboards to accommodate these forthcoming CPUs. That's where the TRX50 WS comes in.

As the name suggests, this motherboard isn't intended for the average consumer or gaming audience. It's a workstation-oriented board that will support new Threadripper 7000 processors. These chips are expected to feature up to 96 cores with up to a 350W TDP. Other platform features should include DDR5 memory support, up to 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes and other upgrades.

The TRX50 chipset specs are still unknown, but we expect to learn more about them before the end of the year.
