Many assumed that LGA1700-compatible coolers would also work with the LGA1851 socket, despite having a slightly different Z-height. Previous reports about the LGA-1851 socket hinted at this, but now we have some kind of confirmation thanks to Noctua.
According to Akiba-PC (via VideoCardz), Noctua has verified that their LGA-1700 mounting kit for the NH-U12A would also fit the LGA-1851 socket. The instructions clearly state that both sockets use the same kit, which is already included with all Noctua coolers made since the 12th Gen Core series debuted in 2021.

As a result, Noctua is the first to confirm that their LGA-1700 kit for the NH-U12A cooler is compatible with Intel's upcoming processors based on the LGA1851. Although the new packaging confirms this compatibility, the company has yet to update its official compatibility list to add the LGA1851 socket.
It's unclear if other Noctua coolers or LGA1700-compatible coolers from other companies will also work with the LGA1851 socket. Even with both sockets being pretty much equal, the cooler surface or the mounting technique may affect the cooler's compatibility.

KitGuru says: This is good news if you're planning on upgrading to an Intel Arrow Lake desktop CPU. If you already have a capable CPU cooler, you may save some money by using your current cooler with the new CPU. Even if your cooler isn't compatible now though, there is still a chance that manufacturers will release LGA1851 mounting kits.
