Persona 5 announced alongside some spin offs

Japanese developer Atlus, just announced Persona 5, exclusively for the Playstation 3, proving that the ageing platform still has some life left. It doesn't end there though, Persona Q for the 3DS, Persona 4: Dancing All Night for the Vita and Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold were also announced.

The Persona 5 teaser doesn't give anything away, it just shows off a few chairs and ball and chains: [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mZssK05WYo']

The message is a little creepy too: “You are slave, want emancipation?” The game won't be coming out until winter 2014.

Now lets talk about some spin offs, we'll start off with 3DS title: Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth. This game will be a dungeon crawler and feature the heroes from Persona 3 and Persona 4. The game will release on the 5th of June 2014: [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etfqRXPXbQQ']

The Playstation Vita title might not be as appealing as the 3DS one though. Persona 4: Dancing All Night will be a sound/action game where players will compete in “battle dances” against shadows. It's set for launch during autumn of next year. If dance battles are your kind of thing, here's the trailer.

Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold also doubles as Persona 4 Arena 2. This will be a PS3 fighting exclusive and thats pretty much it: you have the Persona characters duelling it out. Persona 4 Arena 2 will launch next summer.

The bad part is, western release dates haven't yet been announced, so there's no telling if these games will hit Europe or North America but hopefully they will.

Kitguru Says: Japan has a history of keeping some of its best games to itself. Monster Hunter Online, Monster Hunter 4, Fatal Frame and while Xenoblade did arrive eventually- it took a while. I'd like to see more Japanese games make way over here.
