Call of Duty Ghosts official specs revealed

A while back we got some rumoured specs for Call of Duty Ghosts, which at the time a lot of us thought they were quite extreme with the recommended specs featuring a GTX 780. Well we still don't have the official recommended specifications but we do have the official minimum and they are still a bit higher than expected, but more or less the same as previous rumours suggested.

To run Call of Duty Ghosts you will need:

  • Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit
  • Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom™ X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better
  • 6GB RAM
  • 40GB HDD space
  • NVIDIA® GeForce® GTS 450 / ATI® Radeon™ HD 5870 or better
  • DirectX compatible sound card
  • DirectX® 11
  • Broadband Internet connection for Steam and Online Multiplayer

All of those high res dogs are going to take a toll on your rigs.

64-Bit is still a requirement and this trend is likely to continue. For those running SSD's or are running out of HDD space, you're still going to have to clear some room although not as quite as much room as we previously thought. Another change from what we're used to is the extra RAM requirement, usually you can get by on just 4GB but those days seem to be coming to an end. As the next generation of consoles progress we will probably see a couple more jumps in PC spec requirements.

KitGuru Says: Call of Duty's requirements are a bit odd, as someone with an old GTS 450 and an Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 is unlikely to have more than 4GB DDR2 RAM. I'm more interested in the revised recommended specs, I think we can all agree a GTX 780 is a bit of a stretch to run Call of Duty. Are your rigs prepared for the new generation?

  1. Well, I have oldie i7-860 with 12Gb RAM and 450 GTS. What’s the issue with that build? At least i can run all new titles! On minimums of course. And it loads up very fast with my Asus RAIZR.
Oh, well. Seems i have to upgrade it. Gonna buy new power supply. 1100W gonna do it.

  2. Putting the HD 5870 in the same category as the GTS 450 is an insult to the far superior 5870. It also shows that the developer has no idea what they are talking about. This game will definitely be playable with a 5850 and even a 4850.
