Xbox One and 360 are getting original TV shows

Microsoft has announced that starting in early 2014, its Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles, will have access to their own unique, original content that won't be available anywhere else initially. What those shows will be at the moment remain somewhat of a mystery, though we do know some things.

For one, Microsoft is definitely developing a Halo based TV show, with Spielberg as acting producer. 343 Industries is also involved and it'll be live action with a premium feel, which suggests we're looking at a high budget, with decent special effects and acting. Fingers crossed anyway.

Previous Halo live action offerings have gone down pretty well

What else might be in the works though, we don't know. It was all announced by Nancy Tellem (via Variety), Microsoft's president of entertainment and digital, who said that while this format sounds similar to Netflix shows like Arrested Development and House of Cards, Microsoft's set up is an entirely different animal.

Cryptically she said that while similar to Amazon or Netflix, “We’re neither or we’re a little like them. It all depends. The lack of black and white and this is the template and this is what we’re following is very difficult. As we continue to do deals everyone’s going to get more comfortable.”

KitGuru Says: Tellem has been on board with the development of these new shows since 2012, so this is a project that's been ongoing for some time. Hopefully that means the new Halo show and whatever else is incoming, will be decent.

What Microsoft properties would you guys like to see a show based around?
