ADATA launches ultra durable 32GB drive weighing 3 grams

We have all had USB pen drives break/fail/drop in liquid and refuse to work. We have also found them bulging in our pockets or, better still, preventing us from getting a comfortable mouse position because of how far they stick out from a laptop. ADATA claims to have a cure – which Dr Guru will investigate.

The rather un-romantically named DashDrive Durable UD311 uses Chip-on-Board technology to deliver 85MB/sec data transfer rates.

Even though it is impact and water resistant, it weighs in at only 3 grams.

It comes with a free download of something ADATA calls ‘UFD to GO', which enables you to work securely on other PCs while automatically compressing data on your DashDrive Durable and ensuring you have all of the Outlook emails you need, wherever you end up working. It also does a handy job of synchronising your My Docs and browser data etc in the background.

The design includes a small hole in the plastic that means you can use your 32GB DashDrive Durable as bling – either around your neck or hanging from some other piece of jewellery etc.

KitGuru says: No pricing as yet, but it comes with a lifetime warranty and the bright blue crystal design should be hard to lose in the sitting room/office. There will also be a 16GB version, but if the price is low enough, why would you opt for half the storage?
