Dedicated Xbox gamers getting free, full Killer Instinct

Are you a “dedicated” Xbox gamer? Have you beaten countless games and collected hordes of achievements leaving you with a gamer score that only the nerdiest of nerds can envy? Well you could be in for a surprise in your inbox. Go check it, we'll wait.

If you're reading this next line, chances are you didn't get the email, because if you did, you'd already know what I was talking about. So for those of us that Microsoft doesn't deem worthy, let's have a look at what those lucky, obsessive gamers have been given.

In the email, that's being sent out to multiple territories and many gamers with large gamer scores, Microsoft is giving away a full copy of Killer Instinct on the Xbox One. This isn't the one character free version that anyone with the new machine will be able to play when it's released on the 22nd November, but the fully unlocked version with all eight characters.

Six at the start, two later and a load more to be announced. DLC hooohhhhhh

The email reads as follows (cheers CVG): “You're a fan of us and we're a fan of yours. Thank you for your dedication to Xbox. We want to show you our appreciation so we're giving you Killer Instinct.”We've unlocked all characters so you can hit the ground running. Watch your inbox on 22 November for instructions on how to claim your free gift.”

This is basically in line with the £16.99 version which will be available on launch day, that also unlocks all eight characters  – though two of those will be delivered later. It doesn't however include the £34.99 Ultimate Pack extras, such as character accessories and costumes.

KitGuru Says: You know who does deserve a copy? Chris Seavor. Ex-Rare man-at-arms and the voice of Conker. They should do it just to mess with him.
