AMD clarifies Battlefield Bundle

Earlier this week AMD released information on a new bundle with its latest line up of R9 series GPUs, that would see many of them come with a free copy of Battlefield 4. However, it's now released a clarification since there was apparently some confusion over how it would all work.

“While all AMD Radeon R9 series cards are theoretically eligible for the promotion (which is administered by AMD’s channel partners), retailers and add-in-board partners ultimately decide which select AMD Radeon R9 SKUs will include a copy of BF4,” reads the AMD statement.

Essentially it sounds like AMD announced a bundle and people got mad that their local retailer when it didn't deliver. To make sure that doesn't happen again, AMD will soon be listing applicable bundles with specific retailers on its website.

If you happen to have purchased an applicable R9 series cards before the 13th November, unfortunately AMD can't backdate the deal, so you won't be getting a free copy with the card. However, to make up for this, AMD is giving away over 1,000 Battlefield 4 codes on its social network pages (Twitter and Facbook) over the next few weeks, so keep an eye on them.

The new R9 cards from AMD have reviewed very well, even if as usual the coolers are drawing some criticism. Check out our reviews of the 280x, 290x and 290.

KitGuru Says: Any of your picked up an R9 series card already? I'm hoping to get hold of one soon, replace my aging 5870. Ol' girl is screen flickering all over the shop. Time to put her out to pasture.
