Turn on your charger with this tap shaped adapter

The simplest way to charge your phone is to leave the charger plugged in all the time, but you're always having to flick that switch to save those pennies and the environment right? Well what if you could do it with just the twist of a tap? It might sound odd, but this new product known as the Power Tap could bring an end to bulky chargers and endless switch flicking, replacing it with a simple twist.

At least that's the idea behind the Power Tap, which as you might expect, is shaped exactly like a tap and features a USB port for you to plug your USB charger into, the Power Tap can be turned on and off with a twist. To let you know which position is which, when powered off – saving those pennies again – it will glow red. When it's pumping your phone full of juice, it turns blue.

Compatible with all USB chargers, the Power Tap is made from a durable white plastic that shouldn't look too out of place plugged into your wall – especially in the kitchen.

The Power Tap is currently available at all good gadget stores for £20.

KitGuru Says: I'd have liked to have seen two USB ports on it to make for extra space saving and that red light when its turned off seems unnecessary, but hey, it's £20 and you won't need another charger in future. Not sure I'll be buying one, but would this peak your interest?

The launch of the new Intel Core Ultra 200S family of CPUs along with Z890 motherboards was a thorny process. KitGuru suffered along with pretty much every other review site on the planet and you may have noticed we held off from reviewing of the Core Ultra 9 285K, Core Ultra 7 265K and Core Ultra 5 245K as it is clear to us that Intel has some work to do before this platform is ready for action.

  1. What makes it glow red? Electricity? Then that doesn’t save pennies right? It is not like a tv where you put it in stand by so that you can use the remote to turn it on
