Baldur's Gate 3 is now officially available on PS5 as well as PC and at Gamescom last month, Larian confirmed that the game would be heading to Xbox before the end of the year. For those with friends across multiple systems, Larian has now announced plans to introduce cross-play.
Currently, you can transfer your Baldur's Gate 3 saves between platforms. However, you can't play co-op with someone on another system. That will eventually change, with Larian's Michael Douse confirming to Eurogamer that crossplay co-op is on the roadmap.
Here's the full quote from Douse: “It was always in the planning”, he told Eurogamer. “but we knew it wouldn't be for launch. It's in the roadmap, and though we have an idea of when we'd like to get it ready for, we don't want to put a date on it until we're sure.”
The feature might not be ready in time for the game's Xbox launch later this year but it should arrive at some point in 2024. Larian has been hard at work patching the game in the weeks since launch, with a particular focus on issues that arose in the later parts of the game.
