“That's Toby Marshall driving the chariot of the gods.”
That line sums up the hammy nature of the new trailer for the upcoming Need for Speed movie featuring Jesse (Aaron Paul) from Breaking Bad, as a street racer guy, with presumably hundreds of thousands of dollars for cars and not much for lawyers, as after a particularly bad race where a friend was killed, he faces a lot of jail time.
Coming out chubbier than he went in, ‘Tobey' decides to take the “didn't go back,” guy down for good, but first he has to beat him in a race.
*Warning* This is one of those trailers that shows you massive plot points and surprises. [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYGOBAHBbfQ']
What's somewhat nice to see about this trailer, as over the top and silly as it is in places, is that it's focused around the racing element. With Fast and the Furious rapidly approaching double digit versions, it's got more and more elaborate, to the point where the racing aspect isn't really there anymore. Here though, it seems to be the biggest component.
There's also a few shots which nail the look of the fictional Redview County from the games.
‘I'm serious. Look how serious my face is.'
Need for Speed, is set to debut on 14th March 2014.
KitGuru Says: I'll watch this. I probably won't pay near £10 to watch it in a cinema. But I'll watch it.
