Nvidia has just released an updated ‘game ready' driver just in time for the releases of Assassins Creed IV and Need for Speed: Rivals. Amongst these last minute tweaks, the new driver is going to help SLI profiles and games running at 4K resolutions.
“These Game Ready drivers will also provide performance enhancements in a wide variety of different games,” said an Nvidia spokesperson. “When running at 4K resolutions, SLI performance increases by as much as 50% in key titles like Metro: Last Light, Crysis 3, and Battlefield 4.”
Here are some examples of the performance increases you could gain on a GTX 770, 780, 780Ti and the Titan:
- Up to 50% boost in Metro: Last Light
- Up to 26% boost in Crysis 3
- Up to 18% boost in Battlefield 4
For the SLI users you'll get some updated profiles for:
- Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
- Path of Exile
- Natural Selection
Other than these specific optimizations, you should also see some better performance in Batman Arkham Origins and Call of Duty Ghosts. On top of that, the Geforce experience 1.7.1 is bundled with the latest driver, which recently added in support for Shadowplay and Gamestream for Nvidia Shield owners.
Other than that it's all pretty standard stuff, the drivers support any card from as far back as the old Geforce 8000 series and while games don't tend to support Windows XP anymore, the drivers still do.
Kitguru Says: If you don't often update your drivers then now is as good a time as any, there's plenty of nice performance boosts in this one. Let us know what you guys think of the latest updates.
