Sony debuts PS4 Greatness Exchange trailer

With just a week to go until the release of the PS4, Sony is really starting to ramp up the the promotion. Today it's showing off a trailer of sorts, for what it calls the Greatness Exchange, where by completing achievements and earning trophies on the PS4, you have a chance of winning props from PlayStation adverts. It all points to the GreatnessExchange website, which waxes lyrical about how unlocking trophies in-game, will grant you the chance to become “great,” and ultimately, be rewarded with props from adverts for Sony products. It could be the face mask of an infected from The Last of Us, or a sword from an Assassin's Creed commercial, or any other item from a myriad of potential costumes and props.

“YOU’RE ABOUT TO HAVE A DECENT SHOT AT WINNING ITEMS USED IN THE LATEST PLAYSTATION COMMERCIALS ALONG WITH A FEW ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCES,” reads the site, in unnecessary all caps. “AND, WITH ONE GOLD TROPHY EQUALLING ONE SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY, IT DOESN’T MATTER WHETHER YOU’RE SWIMMING IN 24K OR JUST STARTING OUT… EVERYONE AND ANYONE HAS A CHANCE AT GREATNESS.”

It's not clear at the moment though, whether the site isn't operational or if you just have to have a PlayStation account under your name and date of birth. Can any of you guys access it? I can't.

Not you though Jon, you're not great at all.

The PS4 launches in North America on the 15th of November, but won't get here for another two weeks, hitting the UK and EU on 29th November. Curiously for a Japanese company though, it won't land in Japan until 22nd Feburary next year. In contrast, the Xbox One is launching in almost every territory on 22nd November.

KitGuru Says: Quite a cool idea, though if it's randomised what you win, you could end up with something a bit naff compared to another winner. [Thanks AGB]

  1. With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into anyy issues of plagorism or copyright violation?

My site has a lot of unique content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet
without my authorization. Do you know any ways to help reduce content from being ripped off?
    I’d trfuly appreciate it.

  2. Hi Scott – we get a lot of far east sites copying and pasting reviews and news yes – its a full time job getting things taken down.
