Antec SPZero portable bluetooth speaker review

Rating: 8.0.

Thanks to the likes of Apple (and Android to some extent), the world of mobile phones has become as much about style as it has about substance. This goes double so for audio devices, thanks to companies like Dr Dre's Beats. But while there are plenty of companies willing to make products that appeal to both of those camps, the hard part is standing out from the crowd.

How did Antec try to do that? By making their audio accessory bright orange.

Of course this is just one of many eye catching colour combinations that the SPZero is available in. You can also get it in white and blue, white and green, white and pink, and a variety of other combinations. The orange and black seems the most eye catching though and therefore the poster child for this small but powerful bluetooth speaker.

The packaging for the SPZero is designed to show you exactly what you're getting with the speaker – a fist sized, bright orange audio device. It does however extol some of the device's features, including its ability to hook up with any device, be it smartphone or tablet, with bluetooth connectivity.

There are a few accessories though, including a clip for attaching the speaker to a bag or strap, a micro-USB to USB cable and a 3.5mm audio cable. Each is pretty short, so don't expect to route this a long way, but it does mean you can hook it up to devices that don't have the ability to use bluetooth.
