It seems like at this point, everyone that's going to play Minecraft, probably owns a copy of it. It's available everywhere from its humble PC beginnings, on consoles and smartphones, but now it might be hitting the Wii U too, with an emphasis on using the Gamepad to construct and tree-punch your world.
This rumour – and it is one, so take it with a pinch of salt – comes from Nintendo Enthusiast, and it says that by summer 2014, we'll be seeing Minecraft on the Wii U and on the PS3, PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita. With the Nintendo console though, the Gamepad is getting a lot of attention, with current devkits of the console and its tablet accessory residing in Mojang studios – apparently.
While Minecraft has sold over 33 million copies, the Wii U is still looking for its big system selling game, so perhaps a tablet enabled and remote play version of Minecraft, could really help push a few systems, something Nintendo really needs at the moment – even though it's game library is starting to swell nicely.
Perhaps we'll see a resurgence in it like we have done with the 3DS.
KitGuru Says: I'm sure if you were wanting to play Minecraft you'd have done so already, but if you're a family that might upgrade to a Wii U at some point, then maybe this would be a decent selling point for you. What do you guys reckon?
