Kingom Come Deliverance is a beautiful looking RPG

The first trailer for the first game to come out of Czech developer Warhorse studios has been released and it's very, very pretty. Known as Kingdom Come Deliverance, it's said to be an open world RPG, action-adventure, with first person combat, stunning visuals and a non-linear story. Sounds like a first person Witcher, which means I'm in.

“The team’s ambition for Kingdom Come: Deliverance is growing this ever-maturing sandbox genre in a believable, real-world context and scope,” said studio Creative Director Dan Vávra. “To that end, we’re harnessing CryENGINE®3, nonlinear narrative, varied freedom in character progression, and a consequence-laden living world in ways that have never been possible until now.” [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoEvwEb5iug']

The trailer doesn't tell us much about the game, but it sets a pretty epic scene. Fortunately the screenshots are a lot more enticing:

There's also an awesome GIF of the first person combat you can view here.

Kingdom Come Deliverance is coming to PC and new-gen consoles in 2015. More details are expected to drop on 20th January 2014.

KitGuru Says: Looks a bit Mount and Blade like too. That and The Witcher are two of my favourite RPG's ever, so combine those two with the CryEngine 3.0 and I'm pretty sold. If they want to seal the deal, they'll announce Oculus Rift support. [Thanks AGB]

While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.
