Gotham Knights seemingly coming to Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch has been known for its “impossible ports” over the past few years, with the likes of The Witcher 3, DOOM Eternal and more all being added to the system. As the generations progress, we have even started to see current-gen exclusives being brought to Nintendo’s handheld-hybrid. According to one ratings board, Gotham Knights is set to come to the Switch.

As discovered by Twitter user Andrew Marmo, the Singapore games rating board ‘Infocomm Media Development Authority’ have published a listing for the previously current-gen exclusive ‘Gotham Knights’.

Originally released in 2022, Gotham Knights offered a co-op open world game similar to that of Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham series. Unlike those games however, Gotham Knights was released for current-gen systems only, with the team making this decision so as to not hold back its potential.

Furthermore, the title runs at just 30fps even on these new-gen systems, making the prospect of a backport seemingly unviable. As such, it is interesting to see that Warner Bros. have somehow managed to get the game running on Switch in an acceptable manner.

Seeing as how cloud versions of games do not get rated in such a way (meaning it will run natively on the console), it will be interesting to see how Gotham Knights looks and performs when it is eventually officially announced for Switch. Perhaps at the rumoured upcoming Nintendo Direct?
