Lucas Arts cancelled this awesome looking Darth Maul game

Lucas Arts shutting down was a sad moment for Star Wars fans, we don't know how many potentially good games we lost that day but here is one of them- An Akrham Asylum inspired game based on Darth Maul, who was arguably the best thing to come out of the prequel movies.

The game was being developed by Red Fly for the PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the Wii U. The would be Stealth-Action title was revealed by Game Informer in the magazine's May issue, a member of the Red Fly team described the game's character as “insanely powerful and deadly, but one or two hits will take you out.” [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0SKu3s3Pxw&feature=youtu.be']

It all sounds good at first but Red Fly began butting heads with Lucas Arts after a while, the Star Wars publisher wanted to change the game's direction, turning it from a Darth Maul origin story in to a Clone Wars cartoon tie-in. The game was codenamed ‘Damage' and George Lucas re-wrote the story to incorporate Darth Krayt and Darth Talon, two characters that only appear in the Dark Horse comics.

Long Before the publisher's shutdown last year, it was in talks to buy Red Fly but once the buyout didn't happen it was forced to cancel the Darth Maul project and let go of 70 employees. The team went on to release TMNT: Out of the Shadows last year.

KitGuru Says: Darth Maul is one of the coolest and most mysterious characters in the Star Wars universe. A proper lightsaber wielding game that really did the character justice would have been amazing. Would you guys liked to have seen this project come to life? I think we are due a good Star Wars game… it has been a while.
