Acer unveils 4K gaming display featuring Nvidia G-Sync technology

Acer has announced the world’s first display that features 3840*2160 resolution and Nvidia Corp.’s G-Sync technology for smooth gaming experience. The Acer XB280HK monitor is designed for gamers that demand absolutely the best and have high-performance personal computers with GeForce GTX graphics cards inside.

Acer XB280HK is a 28” monitor with LED backlighting and technologies that improve comfort of using the display for prolonged periods of time. The monitor features 170/170 degree viewing angles, anti-glare coating on the screen and low dimming technology, which adjusts to as low as 15 per cent brightness in low light environments to make it easy on the eyes.

Nvidia’s G-Sync as well as VESA’s Adaptive Sync technologies enable the display to dynamically match a GPU’s rendering rate, on a frame-by-frame basis, to produce a smoother, low latency, gaming experience. Nvidia’s G-Sync is exclusively supported by the latest-generation GeForce GTX graphics cards.

While Acer did not reveal whether the XB280HK supports 60Hz refresh rate at 3840*2160 resolution, given that the display is designed with video games in mind, the 60Hz refresh rate is a must-have feature.

The Acer XB280HK monitor is made with post-consumer recycled plastic and features a distinctive red ring on the base stand. The display can be connected to a PC using DisplayPort 1.2. The monitor features four-port USB 3.0 hub.

The Acer XB280HK starts shipping in Q2 in Pan America, EMEA, Japan, and Taiwan. Pricing will vary in different regions.

  1. If the display port refresh rate is not 60 hertz and the price is not on par with ASUS and AOC monitors announced this week then I doubt this monitor will sell well…g-sync or not…
