A few months ago, Meta officially unveiled the new Quest 3 VR headset, with plans to launch later this year. Now just as promised at the most recent Meta Connect event this week, the launch date has officially been announced, with the newly upgraded standalone VR headset shipping on October 10th.
The Quest 3 has a 40 percent slimmer optics profile compared to its predecessor and the headset itself has undergone a radical redesign, as have the touch controllers. The new Touch controllers remove the hoop at the top, designed to strap to your hand and offer better finger tracking compared to the old design.
The Quest 3 is Meta's most powerful VR headset to date, packing a new-gen Snapdragon chip that delivers twice the GPU performance of the previous generation. Internal storage options will range from 128GB up to 512GB.
The Quest 3 will begin shipping on the 10th of October, with the 128GB version costing £479.99 and the 512GB version going for £619.99.

KitGuru Says: The Quest 3 is finally coming out. It will be interesting to see what people think of the graphical or performance upgrade from the new Snapdragon chip. It best be good, as prices have crept up again with this generation.
