Paradox's City Skylines impressed us back when it launched in 2015 and the game has only grown since then with expansions adding new features and more depth. Now, Cities: Skylines II is on the horizon but while the game will still be landing this year for PC players, console gamers will have to wait a bit longer.
City builders like Cities: Skylines used to be exclusive to PCs. It is only in recent years that developers have really begun to figure out how to get these games playing well on console systems. Cities: Skylines 2 will still make its planned 24th of October release date on PC, but those waiting for the Xbox or PlayStation versions will have to wait a while longer.
The Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions of Cities: Skylines 2 have been delayed to Spring 2024. In an announcement, Paradox said: “Mayors! We’re hard at work getting the game ready for release. We've come to realize that we need more time to reach the quality targets we've set for Console. We want to provide the best experience for our players, we’re updating the release window for Xbox & PS5 to Spring 2024.”
Cities: Skylines 2 is being developed exclusively for next-gen platforms. We would expect an update on the game's console release around March.
