Asus gives free Cerberus headset to buyers of Radeon R9 290 cards

High-performance graphics cards are not really affordable, so are high-quality gaming headsets. But what if you need to have both? Make compromises? Apparently, Asustek Computer and Overclockers UK have a solution: you buy an Asus Radeon R9 290-based graphics card and get a headset for free.

For a limited time and until stock lasts, Overclockers.co.uk offers Asustek’s Radeon R9 290 DirectCU II OC 4GB graphics card for £329.99 including VAT (which is a regular price for such kind of graphics cards) with a free Asus Cerberus gaming headset. Just like all other AMD Radeon R9 290-based graphics cards, this one also comes bundled with three free AAA games (thanks to AMD Never Settle campaign).

Like other graphics cards with the DirectCU II cooling system, the Asus Radeon R9 290 DirectCU II OC 4GB is based on a custom printed-circuit board with the Digi+ 10-phase voltage-regulation module (VRM) that reduces power noise by 30 per cent and enhance energy efficiency by 15 per cent; the board also uses extremely hard-wearing polymerized organic-semiconductor capacitors (POSCAPs). Such graphics cards feature reduced power consumption, improved general stability and additional durability.

The Asus Cerberus gaming headset features large 60mm neodymium-magnet drivers, 100mm full-size cushions (which should offer great noise isolation), a detachable microphone as well as an in-line mic. The headset alone is priced at £49.99.

What Asustek and Overclockers UK offer seems like a nice deal. Depending on how you look at it, you either get a free headset, or you save £49.99 when you buy two decent products. Keep in mind that the campaign lasts only until there are items in stock.
