Grand Theft Auto Online Heists officially delayed

Rockstar originally pegged the Grand Theft Auto Online Heists update for the Spring of this year. Unfortunately, Spring is over in a couple of days so Rockstar has officially announced the update's delay. The announcement was made in a comment on the recent “I'm not a Hipster” update news post.

The Heists update is probably the most anticipated one so far but Rockstar needs to balance it right. “We know many fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Online Heists that we had planned to release for you this spring, and they are taking more time to create than originally anticipated. We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can.”

“Please know that we are focused as always on making the best possible content for you to play and we are thankful to all of you for your patience, understanding and support.”

We don't have a new release window but hopefully it will arrive by the time the game hits the PC, PS4 and Xbox One later this year. Some leaked footage of an early build of heists was leaked some time ago but it has since been taken down.

KitGuru Says: One thing Rockstar has to get right with Heists is the payout. Some missions are currently a lot of work for very little pay, heists might end up being fun to play but people aren't going to want to keep playing if the payout is small. Are any of you guys still playing GTA Online? I've stopped playing now that the PC version has been announced.

  1. The fact that all of Rockstars updates/DLCs to GTA online have been completely free makes me love them regardless of delays. Publishers such as EA would have charged for every single GTA Online update thus far (hence everyone hates EA), so I don’t think anyone should be complaining.

  2. eat all of my ass, how many more delays.

  3. Time and again they have delayed it or gave vague answers like “soon” so they gave us some cars and some different clothes(yet more reskins) and a couple of weapons well whoopty frickin doo so what if they are free, how about instead of wasting time making needless themed item packs they get their priorities sorted and get the Heists out the god damn door.

I was thinking about picking this up on PC even though the constant excuses and nerfing of mission payouts to nudge players towards buying shark cards pissed me soo much that I got rid of my 360 and will never touch another console again, but if the heists are not out by the time of PC launch or we get another “sorry it been delayed again” BS then it wont be something I’ll be picking up

  4. The delay for the heists should be worth it. R* is listening to the community and the community doesn’t want glorified missions, so they are working harder to make it special and unique. The payout shouldn’t be a problem because the missions will require extreme teamwork to be completed.
