Larian warns fans not to buy Baldur’s Gate 3: Deluxe Edition from scalpers

Last week, Larian Studios announced that they would be releasing a physical version of the universally acclaimed Baldur’s Gate 3. Costing $79.99, the Deluxe Edition includes quite a lot for relatively little. Despite the high demand, Larian has now warned fans not to buy any copies from scalpers as “there won’t be stock scarcity.”

The announcement of the Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition has seen a great deal of interest from fans, as for just £16 more than the digital release you can get your hands on a physical copy of the game alongside a whole bunch of goodies, including digital DLC packs; a 3-disc soundtrack; double-sided map, dozens of stickers; a poster and more.

For those who are currently unable to afford the package, fear not as according to Larian Studios the Deluxe Edition is not a limited release and so will be purchasable officially for quite some time – with the Director of Publishing at Larian taking to Twitter to say:

“Just FYI the Deluxe Edition is *not* a limited edition and stock is holding steady, with more waves being prepared within the Q1 2024 shipping window, so if you see them online being resold based on confirmed preorders at higher prices, skip it. There won’t be stock scarcity.”

With how revered Baldur’s Gate 3 is, had this deluxe edition been a limited release then we certainly would have seen a whole bunch of secondary sellers buy out all the stock in order to resell them for a profit. Fortunately it appears as though all those who want to buy Baldur’s Gate 3’s Deluxe Edition will be able to do so for its official retail price.
